Been looking forward to trying one of those smaller racks.
I like how you've got your ascender-to-harness connection rigged so that it's dynamic. Nicely done.
I'd taken to doing that when anchoring ropes in some situations, so that in the event of a dynamic loading of a person below it can allow to slip a little, and can also be an active part of a progress-capture system for pulling up a stricken person on the same rope.
Give a person a match and they'll be warm for a minute, but light them on fire and they'll be warm for the rest of their life. =)
I love the setting of this bridge. How long and how high is it?
If you dont mind me asking what area that bridge is in.
Id love to go rope swing off it on my next trip south of the border. Being able to rappel to the ground after the jump would be a nice change for me. All the bridges I use in BC are either over fast flowing rivers or 300'+ in heights.
It doesnt matter how you die. But only how you live.
It's 320 ft high, don't remember how long. It's over the Crooked River in Oregon at where US-97 also crosses. There are three really high bridges there. Not really a good way up, at least not nearby

Come on down and let's swing on it!
I just worry about the cops down south... last trip i did. I was taken down at gun point then roughed up a bit by a park ranger in death valley for taking pictures of spinning steel wool..... IN THE MIDDLE OF SAND DUNES!!!!!!!! Got away with a writen warning but fml....
As far as that bridge... looks like we could jump off the edge of the cliff. Ill be making a point to drive thru the area next time.

You just gotta hope no-one rocks up to the rest stop viewing area right next to it :o It's a beaut though. Your man McCullough was such a demon for class bridges: http://en.structur...dex.cfm?ID=d000866
