Impulse: Definitely. I've only ever seen one around here, a white one owned by a guy about a mile away from me. Haven't seen it in five or six years. Merkur: Never seen one. Le Car: Never seen one. NX2000: I saw one in a restaurant parking lot a few months ago, but that's it. CRX: They're a rare sight in any form around here. Rampage: Never seen one. Legend: These are fairly common around here. Fiat: Never seen one. Scirocco: I've seen a few around here, but not enough for them to be commonplace. Starion: I think I may have seen one a few years ago. So yeah, it's a pretty accurate list.
Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing. |

i was two hours late from owning a 91 Impulse RS Turbo AWD... I owned an 86 Merkur XR4Ti. Fun car. Expensive to maintain the body/interior, but the engine was fucking BULLETPROOF. It was a 2.3L Lima OHC 4 with a big fat turbo hanging off the side of it. 175hp was a lie. I could've bought a Conquest TSi (Starion clone with a Chrysler pentastar on it) last summer for $300, but a)it didn't run right and b)it was North Carolina and c)had no title... too many minuses for me. One VW that was left off the list was the Corrado. When was the last time you saw a Corrado? I remember when they came out, I wanted one in the worst possible way. It looked like a midget Scirocco with an attitude problem! And then, when the VR6 was added, I wanted it even more! Now, I can count on the fingers of one hand the Corrado's I have seen since 1995.

I actually saw a Rampage the other day....and what puzzled me it had Hawaiian plates...

That's a good list. I've owned most of those cars, and miss them all.

Agree wholeheartedly on the Conquest, that is one gorgeous car. I actually see an odd number of Nissan NX2000's around here.

Impulse: Haven't seen one on the road in 10 years. Have seen a few in the wreckers. Merkur: Had one for a week Le Car: Had one. NX2000: Went to trade school with a girl who had one. CRX: Basically own one now. Rampage: Had one (parts car for my Omni) Legend: Still see lots of these Fiat X1/9: Had one. Miss it Scirocco: Owned 2, still have one. Starion: Never sold them in Canada, but there's one running the local rally scene here. I love these things.

I nominate the lowly Escort GT. for the price, it was a fun, easy to own car that would scoot. feel free to flame. i know you're going to anyway

I had a 1982 LeCar in 1987..... Torsion bars pulled and reinstalled down to the bump stops. Damn thing would get stuck on speed bumps. It was orange with the trick alloy rims. The exhaust on those cars was so bad, I ran a dump pipe from the exhaust manifold, thru the fenderwell and had a dune buggy silencer exit right behind the driver front tire. That was a very fun little car.......Turned a lot of heads, as it was well before the tuner revolution started.

Merkur: XR4Ti's are more common; I've only seen two Scorpios, the last one was back in 2008ish. CRX and Legend: Dime a dozen here; the CRX is surprising considering they salt like hell around here. Rampage: Seen possibly once or twice. Fiat X1/9: Car shows, mostly. The rest I have never seen. I'll nominate this one though: Ford EXP/Merc LN7

Oh. In that case, I've seen one Scorpio, and that was a couple years ago.

I always kinda liked them. Especially with that funky grille with 3 diagonal slots.
