Posted by Sinister Crayon When I set it up should I go for the beta 64-bit edition of windows or just drop the 32 on until the 64-bit becomes more functional?
From what I've seen the 64 bit edition offers MAX 2% bonus in most benchmarks... I'd stay with 32bit for now. More compatibility for no real loss.

Interesting, I'll just wait for a while and save up for a dual core or something.
Anyways, being the moron I am, I forgot to check if the case had a PSU, well, it didn't. So I just bought an Antec True Power II 550W PSU. I always forget something...

Ok, this is great. I am currently posting from safe mode. When I try to boot up normally I get to the windows XP thingy with the loading bar. after about 5 seconds I get a blue screen that I can only see for about a 1/10 of a second and it restarts. I looked in my boot settings and I can find nothing thats wrong. I used the optimized defaults, nothing worked, help anyone?

This happened on my old pc, I put in a new video card and it wasnt fully in, even though it was screwed down all the way. It may be that your stand offs arnt fully screwed in, making the board unlevel. Dont over tighten the stand off. I had one snap on me and I had to redrill and tap the hole, a pain in the ass.
Edit - LOL I just reread that last sentence. Not that im gonna fix it or anything

Posted by Crazydeep74 Reread.
all the hardware is correctly seated if thats what you mean, The GFX card is held in by a little plastic piece that won't let it pop out unless it is unscrewed.

Oh joy.... the GFX card fan is dying, question is, do I replace it or get a new card? If I replace the card I run the trouble of getting another bad fan and I have to find all the stuff that came with the card. So In essence I want to get a New fan/heatsink/or get a water block. Anyways, I need suggestions on replacements for this card. I am not too familiar with cooling as I have normally just gone with stock coolers.

I have a new 250 Gb SATA II drive and I have a few questions.
Can I just clone my old drive to it? What it is my best option for that? Can I run an IDE hard drive with it? Is it plug and play or do I need to install drivers or change motherboard settings?

So,the new heatsink works extremely well and I am very pleased with it. But for the hard drive, I can get it to boot to the windows login screen but I can't log in because it wants me to activate it. I can't activate it because I can't connect to the internet because the drivers are not set up right. I can get into safe mode but it won't let me log in there either? What can I do? I can access it when I have it running as an extra drives so I can modify files.

OK, nevermind, I got around it. Now I get an error that says I have registry issues and download regfixit.com but that costs money. how do I fix them?
EDIT: I need a new CD key as well, it says mine is overused. I have a program that is supposed to give me unlock but I can't figure out how to work it, any suggestions?
