| | | Posted by rainman8889 As for deadlines, if it was my car, they would have three days to replace it. After that, the bad publicity begins. Major assholes.
| Well if there wasn't anything comparable on the lot, I would give them a month for the Superleggera, only because that's how long I would expect the absolute minimum wait to be ... my boss tried to buy a GTR last year (or year before, it's pretty much a blur to me) and found there was a 9 month wait period. Also assuming I had the same car he had. If my dealer wrecked mine, (which they wouldn't, but if they did), I'd want 2009 or 2010 LGT for replacement (wouldn't be a total cock: it'd be embarrassing as hell if they took my car out for a speedride and fucked it up).

| International media doesn't give a rats ass about stories like this. These things get tiny coverage of a paragraph tucked into a local news section. So all of these cracked up threats of "we will take your business down, you'll go broke because of us" is just consumers on their high horse that have zero concept of how shit works. Get a grip No business owner in his right mind would offer compensation PLUS. market value of a few year old Gallardo right now is well under $100K. Even if it went to court, no judge would ever say you must replace a $90,000 car with a $180,000 car just to please the consumer. That's right up the alley of an attempt at a frivolous lawsuit. This is why Dealers and mechanics have insurance! To pay for damages to vehicles caused while in their possesion. All of your sue this media that bullshit makes me sick. Trying to get something for free. Earn something, don't look for an opportunity for an undeserved handout....that's got spoiled pissed off brat written all over it. I'm not saying be happy if something happens to your ride, or whatever but don't think you're entitled to the world because of it. A heating a/c guy fucks something up in yoru house, he fixes it, he doesn't build you a new house. More realistically, a guy makes a driving mistake and turns left in front of you, rearends you whatever the case.... and wrecks your car. Do you demand he replaces it with something worth twice the value? It's a traffic accident, that's what it is, that's how it gets treated. Police report, possible charges, insurance to cover damages, case closed. It doesn't matter that it's a Lambo, and it doesn't matter that the mechanic was driving it, he's insured and employed to do so.

| This doesn't seem like a case of simple accident. These mechanics were out in heavy(ish) traffic fucking around with someones fast and expensive car. Instead of taking accountability, firing that mechanic and working with their customer for a solution: instead the dealership decided to send a big "fuck you" to their customer. THAT is when the ultimatums get made and then action, activism, and plausibly deniable revenge occurs. They took the car for a "test drive". Witnesses described the speed (on St-Martin in Laval) as incredibly reckless with several redline upshifts (1st gear ends at 112kph, 2nd gear at around 150, and 3rd at about 180. Do the math). I meant usa/canada as the "international media" and the news eats stories like this up. "mechanic takes car for test drive at over 100MPH, totals it, screws owner..." it would hit TMZ, probably quite a few stations. Oh, I was under the impression it was a new car. Fine give him an acceptable replacement. Businesses want to save face, reputation matters, it's a concept even mcdonald's gets. Even when we get scammed it's better to lose a few bucks then piss people off. Because they go and tell five people who tell a few people who tell a few people... Sure some people roll over but then you have the general psychos who will call in complaints if you don't appease them. Then there are the truly ambitious people who turn into pyscho's when crossed and who know and utilize the many ways to fuck with people's lives ... it's the intent and motivation that's required. Give them that intent. Post by bandi There would be blood shed if it happened to my car. |
