i filled the trunk of the grand prix with old tires, 4 car batteries, a few gallons of used motor oil i then broke the lock on the trunk lid hehe

ha! The junkyard I go to is getting increasingly picky about what they'll take. Not only do you have to take tires and gas tanks off the car, they won't accept bedsprings or aerosol cans stuffed in the car, now you have to have a title for it to scrap it, and they're just in general being jerks. They won't let you walk back into the yard alone to pick your own parts anymore either.

And as far as the issue of rust...My dad's been looking for a short box or a stepside bed for an '85 Chevy truck for damn near a year now. Every one he finds is either rotted away as bad as the one he took off or $750.

here in NY, it's all about how much it weighs on the scales. Ever see a Nissan Sentra weigh 4000lbs?

sounds like here in quebec, if the car drives in you get an automatic 200$ they want the rims, with our snow tire law. i knew a guy who filled a spare tire well with concrete once!

Same thing here Sam, we stuff them to the gills...

The beautiful thing is, dad works construction, so he brings home the old metal pipe they dig up and leaves it lay around until he takes a car in...and by that time it just happens to get completely full of dirt. Not our fault, but who would wash out an extra 100 pounds or so?
