Auto Body Question

So as some of you know, I got into a small fender bender where most of the damage was on my Cherokee; where the bumper and part of the bumper chassis on the passenger side got dented in. I don't have collision obviously due to the age and miles on the car, but I'm going to take a crack at fixing it. But the XJ drives still fine and there was no damage to the engine or anything else.

My understanding talking with a few friends is that I need to get ahold of a Porta-Power and just push back the front chassis bumper support and replace the bumper. That sound about right? Or does anyone else have any smart ideas?

Its a jeep. Tell people you did it on a tree, rock, ditch, lesser 4x4, and all will be good. Adds character.

Cut that shit and weld in true Jeep fashion. After that, put a band-aid on it.

Get yourself a strong come-a-long and hook up to a tree. Pull it out, grab a bumper out of the junkyard, and have at it.

If I had a spare bumper, I'd ship it to you for what shipping cost.

I'll take a photo for you guys in the daylight.

Here's a good news update!

I picked up an bumper from LKQ and took it over to my friend Nick's shop. We removed the bumper and found one of my bumper brackets was bent. We fortunately we able to pound the bracket almost back to normal and we were good.

And then fixed the chassis support that got pushed in. It was no problem; we did were able to straighten it out by taking some chain and tying it a fire truck he had on site. It looks brand new now!

We also put on my grill guard; it looks awesome! I however need to get new bumper end caps since mine got mingled up.

A 2" lift will be done over the winter. I have a pair of 30" mud tires I throw on when the snow hits.

Heh, I used to have those on the Passport; they were awesome.

These are some weird tires from Kelly that came with the XJ; they were not street tires and rubbed on any turns.

MT > AT. But I will be getting AT next on my TJ. Tired of the drone and the short life. The Cherokee however will be getting something more akin to a tractor when it comes to tread. And Sam, remember us Jeep guys who actually off road know better than runnin real big tires on a D35. Shudder.
