Just received a nicely used ic-735. also...a .5 KW HF linear amp. I now need to obtain a 80 amp power supply, and install a bigger alternator in my car! I just wrote my advanced ticket, with pass...so only a matter of time before i can fire this baby up. I'm looking forward to HF mobile, mountain topping for the most part.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too!

There's nothing stopping you from using it now as is. Advanced isn't the only way to give you HF privledges.

To operate HF, you need one of the following:

Basic and Advanced.
Basic with a passing mark of 80%, if licensed after 2002.
Basic, if licensed before 2002.
Basic with Morse Code endorsement.

Or, be epic like me and have Basic, Advanced AND Morse Code. That not only lets me operate HF, it lets me touch myself too.

Just bought (dead at a ham meet for 5$!) a 20 amp power supply (dead rectifier)...has a nice HAMMOND transformer, and HUGE cap, and a half dozen MOTO regulators! Works great now, and perfect for running my 735.

Ya...I went and wrote my advanced as well...90%! I too am now touching myself, sans the dots and dashes.

The thought of Ex touching himself makes me throw up in my mouth a little.
