	Whats worse is when you don't get caught and there is no evidence to support you having ever trespassed and you still get summoned to court. Our legal system is beyond fucked.

	Yikes. It was an abandoned house, for sale, doors were wide open. We were checking it out and the owner showed up with a gun. We got the hell out of there. Couple hrs later my friend got a call from the cops. They got her tag number and reported it to the cops. Ugh. I don't need a fine and she's worried it will go on a criminal record. Which is bad since she's a teacher.

I wasn't there so I can't say (and if you think it's run or be shot, run) but usually running is bad news. I hope things turn out well for you and your friend.

But if you left without causing any trouble when asked to leave, how can you be charged for trespass? I know here (Ontario), if the owner (or their agents) ask you to leave and you comply, then it's not trespass (unless there's signage or a fence). However, if you refuse to leave or return, then all bets are off.
