He's 8, can barely skate but loves it. His friend is his age and on a team, my son is doing a beginner program. In summer there is a 5-day hockey camp for kids to work w/the coaches and players from the college, MU Ohio--very good in hockey. He wants to go but I don't know if he is ready. Should we send him?

sure send him, if he loves playing hockey that much he will have a blast. These programs will teach him how to skate, stop, puck handle, and all the basics. He will learn alot.
