Found In California!

So when I was roaming about in the outlying regions of a nearby town, I found these a few months ago. I just went out with Muttley last week and snapped some shots through the fence. The guard dogs seemed friendly enough, and people were apparently inside the large office/warehouse in the center, but nobody approached us.

A partially disassembled M35 6x6 cargo truck

A cargo truck of an unknown era, possibly Korea? Any positive ID folks?

Chevrolet C/K-10 pickup trucks

Seven more M35 6x6 cargo trucks (Eight total counting the one in Photo #1)

Chevrolet K-5 Blazers

I think this yard holds vehicles retired from service in the US Army. I did some searching online, and I found no mention of the yard in my area. I was also unable to find an address for this facility, and due the fence and the two guard dogs (One wanted to play, one was napping ), I couldn't talk with the people there.

I'll have more shots come Saturday night, July 11, 2009. See you then! Also, can anybody do a positive ID on the pick-ups? I think they're GM Defense vehicles as well, but I can't figure it out exactly.

Ah, I was thinking that when I read the Wiki on it, but I couldn't be sure. Makes sense now. Thanks Dave!

Both the M1009 and M1008 have GM 6.2 Diesels that get like 20-25 mpg, and 24 volt systems for the engine, 12 volts for the rest of the chassis. Im dying to own an M1009 because i offroad a lot, and it has a locker in the rear.

When I've the time during the work week, I'll make a trip to the county offices and dig up the parcel information on this place. Seeing as to how these vehicles are obviously mothballed, they may be interested in selling, and I know for a fact I've already got a potential buyer. I'll keep you posted!

Unfortunately, I haven't bothered to get more information on that depot. However, I went somewhere else today that had some cool vehicles.

We used to have a complex like this @ the Red Morton community center here in Redwood City, CA. I think it was an old National Guard building, it was all fenced off and out in the back parking lot they had old Chevy Blazers and Jeeps and at least 3 or 4 of the giant trucks (think Indiana Jones, b/c I don't know the technical name) with the canopies on the back. I don't know if they're still located there or not as I have not checked it out in years.
