| | | Okay, someone dies for this one. I'm sure I've already talked about the debit card fiasco I've been going through the past month. How the bank didn't order it, then ordered one on the 4th of May. Well, today is 14 days, I still haven't gotten the damn thing. I don't know if there was something wrong or if my local post office sent it back, or put it in someone else's box and they never returned it to the post office so it could be given to the right person or what. My luck, someone's got that and my pin number and is draining my checking account dry right now. I'm ready to scream, since there's nothing I can do about it but wait. It's like banging your head against a brick wall. No matter who I call, I can't seem to get anything done the right way. Shael

| | | Finally...my debit card is at my bank, waiting for me. The bank rush ordered one and had it sent to the branch office via FedEx, at their expense. About time too. Only took six weeks. I changed banks the middle of April and it's almost the end of May. I just don't like writing checks. I make too many mistakes in my check register and a lot of places around here don't take checks anymore, too many screwups and paper hanger assholes that like to bounce checks and not pay for them. A debit card won't stop me overdrawing, but it'll at least help somewhat, it allows me to check my balance a little easier without calling the bank all the time. I also don't like having to go in the bank that often for stuff. It makes me feel like I'm being a nuisance, which I can become sometimes. Also I pay most of my bills via debit card. My present debit card account is drawn off of a bank in Utah. I would feel better if I didn't have to wire the bank in Utah money all the time to use my debit card, this card allows me to go to my local branch, 7 miles away, make a deposit and use that debit card to pay my bills. I usually just make deposits for my bills, and make a phone call to my creditor and tell them to take the payment off of the debit card and the voila, the bill is paid! No waiting for a check to clear or any stupid shit like that. I don't trust online banking that much yet. Too many things can go wrong and too much information is out there for people to steal. The postmaster at my local post office will send anything back to the addressor if there is anything, and I mean ANYTHING incorrect in my address. So that's probably what happened. Also my mail sometimes finds it's way to my old address in Paul Smith's NY. Why, I don't know. I get stuff back post marked Ray Brook, NY. which is about 10-15 miles from there. It's where my last two bank statements went and came back from. Shael

| | | Posted by Samurai Sweetums, Ray Brook NY is closer to 40 miles away. 10-15 miles is Elizabethtown.
| I know. I meant it was 10 or 15 miles from Paul Smith's, NY. Sometimes, I get angry and don't quite write what I exactly mean. Also Argonian... Sam and I may as well live in East Bumfuck, Egypt. Everything, like bank cards and checks have to be ordered here. No branch office here has the equipment to make Visa Check cards or anything of that nature, so you have to wait for them to be ordered. Now, I have to wait for Visa to mail my PIN for the card so I can activate it and pay my bills, hopefully that won't take another month and a half. The only thing I really like about the card system is that I don't have to carry a lot of cash everywhere. Visa extends you a line of credit equivalent to your checking account balance. I'm the kind of person that'll carry 20 bucks in cash and keep the card for bigger expenditures or to pay for online purchases or bills like my cable, electric and insurance. I hate going to the post office and mailing money orders. Shael
