Well, here we are. Layoff's finally here.

My plans didn't work out quite the way I'd hoped, but I'll be okay. People are in much worse shape than I am at least.

What pisses me off...NYS Unemployment benefits uses Chase Manhattan bank to disburse the money. If you don't direct deposit into your own account, they give you a debit card drawn on Chase. What they don't tell you is if you take all of the money out of the account and are not using a Chase ATM machine, they charge you a fee to use the debit network. Which can lead to an overdraft charge. It has for something like 20K people in Ohio, which uses the same system.

Then on top of it, I filed my claim this morning online at 8am. I have to log back in tomorrow and request benefits for this week. Which is a pain in the ass. It's like two seconds to do, but if I don't remember, I won't be getting the money.

It's just annoying. I didn't want to take my two weeks vacation, I scheduled them for when I'll really need them, like in January and March of 2010.

Anyway...this is gonna be a long two weeks. As much as I hate my job, it'll be nice to get back to normal. If there is anything such as normal anymore.

be happy you get your unemployment so fast out here in Cali it took me 4 MONTHS, 3 phone "interviews" and a 3 hour trip to San Diego to begin getting my disbursements.

He's broke, I'm not doing much better because of my parents spending ridiculous amounts of money on stupid shit, like 2500 bucks on garage doors. I have about enough cash to make it till I get paid right now because they wouldn't pay some of the bills and I had to. I saved money, but my parents are assholes when it comes to that. They didn't like it, so found a way to make me spend about half of it...on groceries. It was either spend it and eat or keep it and listen to them bitch.

I already know what you're going to say Sam, so don't. I have enough shit to deal with this morning, trust me. Getting any money out of them will be a miracle.
