| | | I once had them a few years ago. After some Googling and trial/error, I managed to kill them off. This was how:
-Buy the granules that you dump around the perimeter of your house. It's poison they take back to the nest. -Buy some standard ant traps for inside. -Leave no standing water. Even a few drops in the sink or tub. Ants need water too. Remove their water source. -As Nvr2loud said, use vinegar, bleach, or other nasty cleaning products to clean your surfaces, especially where you're seeing the ants. -More important while using cleaning products, create 'barriers' with the cleaning/chemical product. E.g. clean the floor at the base of your cupboards. The idea is to lay down an invisible layer of cleaning product that the ants have to climb over to get up onto the counter top. They done like it. -Keep cleaning, even if everything is clean. Ants lay down an invisible scent trail for the other ants to follow to the food. Keep cleaning, destroy the scent trail, and replace it with bleach/chemical/vinegar. If you see any ants, kill them and then sanitize any area where you saw them and where they could have been. -Of course leave no food, crumbs, open containers, standing water, un-rinsed pop cans. Like the water above, you also need to remove their food source. Keep all unopened bags in things like tupperware/ziplocks/the refrigerator/etc. -Take the garbage out more often than normally necessary.
SUMMARY: Remove their food/water. Make them walk through chemicals. Make your place ant hell.
