My hotel was invaded this weekend by three hundred lady bloggers. Most of them stay at home moms. I have never, ever, encountered a group of people so mindlessly self absorbed as these people. They'd walk five abreast on the sidewalk and wouldn't move for someone coming the other way. Our bartender had to stay late to clean because these bitches kept spilling their "Blisstinis" all over the place. They'd call at two o'clock in the morning and want five blankets and six pillows. Nothing but a bunch of high maintenance uppity upper class white people, the lot of them. They'd even talk badly about the other attendees to the convention.

Last night, thirteen of them got stuck in the elevator. We have a sign that reads "Limit 7 people". One of them is threatening to sue. Her main complaint is that we didn't have EMS waiting when they got off the elevator. When we spoke to them, they said they were fine. Additionally, they all had fucking cell phones because they were "twittering" while in the elevator, so any of them could have called EMS and been much better prepared for any questions the operator asked them. Of course, this would mean they'd have to stop "twittering" long enough to give a shit about the people around them. Admittedly, forty minutes in an elevator is a miserable time, but when it's you're own fucking fault, you should be grateful you're out of it and not go around threatening people.

I found a blog post from one of them describing the ordeal. She said that even though they saw the sign, they were under the weight limit. They know this because they added up their weights. My first thought when reading this was, "Yeah, because women are always honest about how much they weigh." I'm a terrible person. These people are worse.

This made my morning to read. Nothing like a bunch of miserable bitches to make you realize how awesome your day really can be.

All the more reason to take 75% of the female population and set them afloat.

A lot of these people are morons. We get them where I work all the time. Seems that a lot of people get money and forget how to use their brains. I find a condominium is as bad as a hotel for accumulating morons.

Maybe I'm just a little asshole, but I tend to keep my war-face on and get a good roller derby-stance, and try to knock 'em over when we inevitably collide because I WILL NOT move for bitches like this.

I have never read a blog. Who is reading them to give these people such a sense of self importance? Actually, I know the answer. I keep on reading in the paper "bloggers are saying..." I find it frustrating. I don't care about the opinions of some nameless, faceless masses. I don't want their opinions without their credentials. I hope that it is just being used as filler and that we aren't supposed to actually care what these people have to say.

Anyhow, I can imagine what these people are like and I feel for you.

I tried to find it, but I couldn't. I did find some others, and they only served to raise my blood pressure. I had to stop reading them because they view everything and everyone as an opportunity for networking or marketing, and that makes me really sad.

I was fortunate enough to wait tables at a couples resort during college. I feel your pain.

Ours groups ranged from swingers (trust me- NOT hot) to NYC Sanitation workers. The sanitation workers were the most miserable I'd say.

SHAME!!! You could have at least taunted them over the intercom thingy with promises of speedy recovery. Or activated the emergency alarm for the full 40 minutes.

What a perfect opportunity...and you blew it.
