If the lens quality is otherwise as good as the faster version, you're going to love it. I printed a couple shots I took with it @ 50" wide and they look fucking incredible.

I'm really excited to try it out. Were you using a dark cloth when you were trying to focus? A friend of mine had the same lens and he complained about focusing, but he said it wasn't unbearable with a good loupe and a good dark cloth.
The f8's are just as sharp as their faster brothers, so I'm super excited for that!
Maybe I'll invest in a freshnel kit or something. I don't know if the F2's have a different ground glass than the F1's.

Just got back from my first real "field" outing with the F1.
I didn't have any trouble focusing the 90 f8 with my homemade dark cloth and focusing aid (basically a jewelers magnifying glass). It was somewhat heavy to hike 10 miles with, but the only real problem was the shitty shoulder straps that my backpack has. I ended up making 6 exposures total, two of which were copies. We'll see what they look like when I get them processed, but I think I did alright. I ended up forgetting my focusing aid in a building, but I have a feeling that it probably wont move until next time I get there to retrieve it. Jewelers magnifying glasses are cheap anyways.
The buildings I was shooting in were somewhat bright, though. The longest exposure I had was 8 seconds, and the shortest was at 1/15. If that matters at all.
