My car, Being in the broken state that it's in...Just got me a god damned fine..
I was headed to my dad's house when I round the corner. A damned police Checkpoint is in progress. So I'm already fuck. Cop walks over, See's my inspection is over due. Tells me to pull over. Takes my license. Comes back. Fines me.

$50 for overdue inspection.
$50 Sure charge..

Can't you get it inspected and they will waive the fine? Thats how it works here

In New York state, you have 24 hours to correct the item checked off with a fix it ticket.
Now with an overdue inspection, I don't know what that cop told you, but the fine for overdue inspection is now $150 with an $85 court surcharge.

They don't call it the EMPIRE state for nothing.

Ohhh, there are also plenty of Canadian provinces that don't matter as well (think Prince Edward Island). Just sayin' is all.
