The VP is the first successor to the president... so yeah, VP is quite an important role. Especially for her, because McCain would be the oldest president to ever serve and he holds a 1 in 5 chance of dying while in office. That means that if McCain is elected, there is at least a 20% chance that Palin will at some point be president.

I don't know why you all waste your time discussing and fighting over this stuff, anyway. Only in rare cases will your vote even POTENTIALLY count (unless you're in the electoral college). I guess I used to give a shit until I came to my senses. The best thing about elections is that there is new material for political satire to entertain me.

Lets just hope that when Ted Stevens is asked to step down, she doesn't decide she is capable of running for Senate. Because we all know that most of the people in Alaska will vote for her because she is such a big star now. The other candidate would not have a chance in hell.
