My wife bought a Britney Spears album recently, and despite bringing all my snobbery to bear, I couldn't really come up with a decent criticism. Fortunately, I was still able look down my nose at the album, even without reasonable justification.

Posted by G to the Race I'm all for having meaning in my pop music, but sometimes you gotta recognize ear candy isn't meant to solve the world's problems. Just enjoy it.
Stop it, you're interrupting my meaningful depress-o-rama music

I'll stop shakin' my booty just long enough for you to cut. Remember, your rock stars CAN change the world. And that change should include making them as wealthy as humanly possible all the while convincing the audience they are "Just like you."

Actually, I have to admit I'm listening to eighties pop-rock that I'm sure I dismissed as trivial at the time. I'll be right into Britney in about 2020.

I'll be honest, I've danced to 'Womanizer' with a lesbian. Not that it matters who I danced with, Britney Spears has been amazing ever since she came into the scene. Just that her new stuff is not so good, more towards the mainstream side.
Her earlier albums were amazing (And still are, of course)
TL;DR = Womanizer is good song. Good shit, good shit.
Once things get political, they want us to stop shooting and start dancing. I don't dance.
