I picked up a copy of XUbuntu from Vancouver Freegeek (love them) and have put it on one of my surplus police toughbooks.... I'm just learning how to use it, but it seems way better than windows so far. I hope to become more comfortable with this OS soon.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too!

Started with Red Hat 7, trashed that, found a copy of Ubuntu 5.04, loved it, trashed it, and now I have Ubuntu 8.10. Power supply got fried in a freak occurrence at the substation, so I'm Linux-less at the time

It looks like this is hard to do, at least for me. I can run the UNR from a usb sd card, but i need to repartion my HDD with GPARTED then go and do the install. I'll keep you all up to date as how well it goes.

One of my freinds at church is also considering a swich, she has the .iso on her flashdrive, just hasn't gotten around to burning it.
So i'm just pokeing around, are you gona do anything about it.
