Inactive house on Henry Street in Whitby? < on 3/22/2008 8:08 PM > | Reply with Quote
There used to be a thread a long while back about this place but I couldn't find it. The house is on Henry Street just north of the 401 and it looks almost like some kind of mansion. It's very tall and has huge windows and balconies with no railings.
Does anyone know if the house is in use? From looking through windows, there seems to be no furniture and the windows are really dirty. I havent seen anyone go in or out of the place in more than 10 years...

I drive by here almost daily. otonabee and I stopped by one time and it was as inactive as ever. The backyard was neglected and weedy. It's just odd to see a place in such a desirable area remain inactive for so long.
The former Sklar factory just south and east of Henry Street, is also fast falling into decay. After Sklar left the owners tried to sell and no one bit. Then Durham Police did training exercises here. Now it's just rotting...
