As many of you know, in the late 1870s/early 1880s, all Ontario counties were mapped out, and published into 'Illustrated & Historical' atlases. These were reprinted in the 1970s for libraries and colleges/universities primarily.

Anyways, I lucked out and found the Durham/Northumberland atlas for sale (at a great price too), so if anybody needs references to old buildings/remains, email or message me! Now I can look things up much easier...sure beats the internet maps of these atlases, and likewise having to travel to the library. It is amazing how large these books actually are, and how much easier research goes seeing the relative proximity of buildings to roadways/lakes, etc.

PS...if you are familiar with the Dom's Auto Parts Dump...look at the old stone farmhouse...I will post the Jesse Trull atlas picture of the same building...a sad state of decay...

Is that on Baseline West?

Can you scan the book? Is it old enough and out of print enough to be "safe" to scan it up? That would make a great website. I'd even donate the space.

Hey,

For you fedge, anything LOL. Actually the pictures and maps are online...it is just much easier to read the maps with the massive atlas...the online pics are not so great...especially the maps.

Yep Baseline...really cool house too.
