Posted by Crazydeep74 Yeah, thats all well and good, but how many users will it take before the service becomes more expensive and slows down a lot? Its not available in my area, but I feel a little cheated in the first place. My current service provider just announced 40% increase in speed, chea where, the owners house? My speed has actually decreased more then 1Mbps, what a jip. Second europeans have had faster net then us for years. Most people there, already have 10Mbps or more. Not too sound greedy, but us americans are all getting screwed.

FiOS isn't like broadband. Your broadband cable line connects to a fiber line that has serviced your local switching station for years probably. Verizon is just stepping in and putting a smaller fiber line between your house and the switching station. They have limiters and everything to make sure that you get pretty damn close to what you pay for. Or at least thats what they claim, plus, I have yet to find a negative review of the service. The prices are going to start going down in no more than 5 years (2012), which isn't bad considering cable was 100$ plus when it was first out. But yet, comcast and qwest aren't even planning something like this, which is a shame considering they are probably better equipped for a project like FiOS. But seriously, the performance per dollar is much better than any cable service.
But yeah, the east coast and the europeans are pampered wayyy too much.
