I was on the archives of Canada website and came across a picture entitled Bowmanville POW camp, and I could swear the small homes looked exactly like the tiny homes just north of Bowmanville (veterans st, etc). Problem is, I assumed these homes were 'victory homes' (homes built in good gesture for war widows and injured soldiers following WW2). I have seen the inside of one of the buildings, and they sure are tiny as heck. Maybe these were converted? Anybody have more info on this? We should link up the archives pic, with the same shot today...

I use to live in Bowmanville, there are alot of rumors about the POW camp and a system of tunnels in the area. I have never explored them but i know a few who say they have. Im interested in more information as well

The Bow museum has a scale model of the camp, including detail on some of the underground passageways. I'd love to get a photo if the model if they'd let me...
