Ok i got a problem, i have a small network setup. Server, Desktop and laptop, i have a workgroup setup named Home. It's been working fine, but tonight the desktop cant see the laptop for some odd reason. When i ping the laptop from the desktop using it's name (Laptop) it works fine. I cant seem to get i to show up under workgroup computers and when i try to add a network place (\\Laptop\Shared) it wont work.

Try adding the share with the IP of the laptop instead of it's NETBIOS name.

\\192.168.0.3\Share (example) instead of \\Laptop\Share

You get the ip by pinging it. Type ping <name> and the number that appears after the name in [] is the IP.

Next things to check would be firewalls.

That's what I was gonna say B - make sure your windows firewall is disabled or you won't get through.

Have you tried killing the share and then re-sharing it? I've noticed that the ntfs permissions sometimes gets screwed up when it comes to file sharing.
