I've owned a few sets. Had Tiger Paws on my 76 Camaro. Decent tire but I have no idea have they would perform in Snow/ice. Did okay in the rain tho. 225/70-15 is what my Camaro had

my tire guy couldn't believe that my little Sonic had 16" wheels on it (or that the optional size was 17"). At first, I was going to buy Nexen tires, but after a quick search for tire reviews, I backed away from that.
Went with the uniroyals instead. I guess they are owned by Michelin.

Posted by Agent Skelly Uniroyal is made by Michelin who you can't really go wrong with.
I was never impressed with the wear speed on Hankook tires, they go quick.
the H428's were really soft compound... kind of why the car handled so well. these are a size over, but seem to be okay so far. haven't driven them in the snow yet as I really don't need to go anywhere in the snow anymore.

We ditched the brand at my work a while ago, they never seemed to balance up well at all and a lot were out of round from brand new. (We were calling them Uniwobbles), but I haven't had any experience with them since 2012 or so. Hopefully they've improved- it happens.
I just threw a set of Cooper winter tires on the Jetta, I know it's a garbage brand, but they were super cheap and hardly took any weight which is nice... especially on a set of rims that have been to rallycross a few times.

so far, they are the anatoly dytalov of tires on my car... not great, but not terrible. I've driven it in a couple of snowstorms. I got up the hill (lots of uphill in my way to get home) and into my unplowed driveway, so cannot complain and they are wearing well. Coming up on my first rotation in March or April.

i have had these tires for almost a year... they suck balls. treadlife is amazing.
grip? I've seen wet dildos with more grip. Not impressed. Currently one of them is making an unpleasant noise like it's cupped or has a belt-separation started.

People may laugh, but on both the ranger and the Kia ive had really good luck with snow tires from Crappy Tire. I dont know who makes their snow tires but wear is pretty good, fuel consumption on the hybrid kia barely changes with the snows and the ranger has yet to get stuck.
Its probably the only time my car ever enters the garage at crappy tire LOL

The Cooper winter tires are actually still doing quite well on the 755,000 km Jetta. I'm a bit of an alignment nazi so they'd better not fucking wear unevenly... but yeah, for new tires that were about the cost of used ones, I'm quite happy.
