	I lost my nephew this morning. 18 years old, top student, top athlete, good kid. Blew a tire on the way to work at 20 mph and rolled into an irrigation canal. 10 people standing right there, every one of them went in after him, and Reed is still dead. Drowned in a fucking desert. Assholes like me abuse drugs and alcohol, drive like idiots, risk everything for nothing, but Reed is dead. His little sister Reagan (11 years old mind you) has been fighting cancer for the third time, and now this. How much tragedy will God visit on one family? I've tried hard to be a good Catholic all my life, and it doesn't make me question my faith, but if I am lucky enough to get into Heaven, I expect some fucking answers. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Not to change the subject, but on my last day of work this past Monday (had turned in my 2 weeks notice) I walk into work ready for one last day of BS, and find out my (soon-to-be-former) boss had accidentally overdosed over the weekend, leaving behind a 6-year old son. Definitely makes one question justice & powers above us.

Life's rugged. During the BS times I try and remember that without pain & suffering, there is no happiness or joy. Better days will come.

I may not believe in marriage, but I do believe in best men.
