Buy: http://www.amazon....=1332373229&sr=1-1 (or any other good de-oxidizer), open the flashlight, go to the board, and use this stuff all over it. I swear by the stuff.

im gonna try that deox stuff, thanks. i dont want a better flashlight, this one, as dumb as it sounds, holds sentimental value to me. it doesnt seem so bad now that ive tried scraping all the crap off, i think i just need a new battery holder-thingy. (dunno what theyre called)
Go to auto parts store. O'reilly, auto zone, advance auto are good. Find the tray of 3xaaa led lights up front. Open one to see if the carrier is right. If not, try the next type. Then buy it. Costs maybe $4. Throw away the tube, or whatever. In future, avoid alkalines (alkaleaks) or watch them.
