Posting this to photography because I wish I had my camera body rather than an aged p&s. Canon has had my camera, and it will be home tomorrow afternoon......

This past weekend was full of exploration. After a smooth local meet-n-great I got some sleep and awoke to take a bike out to an old favorite. the place is so large that without a bicycle you don't get to see much at all. We made are way to the grounds passing powerlines, a caged lonely chair, and fallen trees until arriving at the location founded for the production of explosives during world war II and forgotten shortly after the cold war..
1.stay cool.

2.lock 'er up...

3....for ages.

Arriving at a set of buildings already so familiar to me we spent little time and soon continued on down the long quiet roads. Riding down these empty roads was nice for a change, but it seemed as if we may had been too late for anything left standing. we rode on passing foundation after foundation, concrete ruins overgrown with dead vegetation and thorn bushes.

We did end up finding more buildings like some of the first and then a large set of four cooling towers(no not that kind) built on a wooden structure. the fans on top though missing their blades had a 60hp motor for each.. a good bit of power... from atop the structure we spotted our next targets.

These structures were constructed from concrete and then covered in earth. The entrances all looked like bunkers.

6.

some had interesting loading docks and upper floors, but most had the same design. there were probably six or seven of them on each side of the street.

9.

alright, so.. might as well check one more of them out...
10.

holly shit..
11.

by this time everyone is tired and hungry so we choose a path back to the cars.
remember the thorns i mentioned? they do NOT like bike tires.. at least three of the six total bike tires learned their lesson during the trip.. lol whoops...

day ends. we split. I go sleep. before you know it im sitting here writing this thread.

thanks for reading.

Freaking awesome dude! I knew there had to be way more out there. Those underground structures are sick, and you did quite well with the p&s. How long did it take to get there from the original area?

That place is sweet! And who doesn't like a little urbex biking?

Sucks about the camera, but you seemed to have fared pretty well with your p&s! Plus there are always return trips!
