Hmm... taillights are hidden, so that makes it tough. But, going by the 4 bolt wheels, the viper green paint, the lack of turn signals on top of the front fenders, it's a '75 and up export model. Having said that, the turn signal holes could have been filled and someone could have painted it viper green. (Which would make it '68 and up.)

The wheels have me puzzled. They look like something off of a 70s Abarth. I'd say Ronal, but I've never seen a 6 spoke Ronal for a classic VW. Remotec maybe?

It's interesting, the usual rot places look decent... but that door bottom! I have about 20 rust free doors in my collection because they're the only part that doesn't seem to totally rot out.

That's all I've got.

Any more photos?

Someone definitely stuck some Fiat rims on there.

Same bolt-pattern? I had it figured for a Mexican or Brazilian, as I thought I'd seen similar wheels on such previously... Neko.

No unfortunately! It has sidelights too? Slanted quarter window rail? No rear pop-out? No idea myself! Neko.

It's likely a Mexican built car (Brazilian cars still had small side windows).

And Fiat wheels are a different bolt pattern, the only cars to share the VW's 4x130mm bolt circle are some early Skodas. Most Fiats are 4x100, and this definitely looks larger than that.

I love, love, LOVE 2CVs. They go for crazy money here since they were never sold in North America.

(And the chase in "For Your Eyes Only" was great.)

IIRC the stunt ones for the Film had the 1125cc flat 4 from the GS fitted.

For someone restoring an original Mustang, there's nothing more important than using Ford-manufactured vintage parts. Not everyone wants a hot-rod 'Stang. The stock look has quite a following as well and holds it's value way more than some J.C. Whitney, cobbled-together-cheesily, Chinese, backyard mechanic mistake.

i much prefer the all-original restoration. It means trips to salvage yards, swap meets, shit like that... much better experience. In the case of my fathers' 79 Thunderbird, he had to do it that way because it really was a gone car. So many had been destroyed or just thrown away in the decades since they were new.

An old Chevrolet flatbed truck at the DWR in montréal.

Excuse the poor quality, it's a cellphone picture.
