The hand that feeds the machine that is government is individual income tax NOT banks or corporations. Individuals income tax makes up 43% of the tax revenues opposes to the evil banks and corporations that make up 13%

According to the census there's approx 27 million firms in the us opposed to 307 million private citizens.

Who exactly feeds the government?

You don't quite get it, do you?

Corporations "buy" what they want in govt via campaign donations to individual senators/representatives/whatever. You think those elected officials, funded heavily by corporations, are gonna vote for what their people want? Hell no, they are gonna vote for whoever is padding their pocket book.

Lobbies push for regulations that benefit them even to the detriment of others. Guess who funds those lobbies? Yup. Corporations.

Banks and corporations are the same: they do whatever they can to earn the biggest profit no matter what stands in their way. Harmful to employees? Tell 'em to suck it up. Illegal? Pay off legislatures/judges to get the laws changed. While those legislatures are at it, have 'em make tons of loopholes so taxes can be legally evaded.

Sure, 43% of tax revenue is from the American taxpayer. But the dirty money pumped into the system via bought votes is what feeds the government.

So then you want corporations and banks to keep using their money to control politicians?

I don't think it's that anyone wants it. It's just an inevitable truth until new laws and regulations are made against politicians. As long as people want money, they will continue to be bought out.

Not into it. Even Shep, lame as he ever was, has "disowned" that poster (though I bet he's still getting money for it). I don't negotiate with theorists, nor would I recommend negotiating with governments.

Thomas Fucking Jefferson.

And possibly a reason the Texas board of education is downplaying his role in history.

This was not so much about negotiation, as much as it is a peek into the atmosphere of the occupations.

I don't think this is a matter of apathy, as much as it is common sense. In fact, look at it the right way and it is down right hopeful. Our system is past due. It no longer can save itself through half ass reform.

Meanwhile it's brandy and corn flakes for me!

That's the point. Fuck reform, fuck asking permission, fuck demands, and to quote one of the great spiritual leaders of the generation "there is no try".

Yes.

People need to dispense with the naive idea that the worlds greatest superpower can be radically changed from its fundamentally corrupt manner of operating by playing by its rules. If the above sentiment becomes the dominant one we will have WIN.

What are we willing to sacrifice for this?

Everything.

But only because everything is at stake.

Yes. I hate to say it, but we are now living in 1984.
