I downloaded partition magic, didnt help a bit - it didnt recognize the drive.

I was gonna put it in a mac to format, but I decided to try flipping it from master to slave, with a cd drive as master, and then it became workable. Hmmm...

The heatsink fans don't work on my Dual PII. They are all plugged in and the heatsinks are almost at the point of frying. Here are some pictures* of the thing but I don't think they will help. If anyone has any suggestions (Which I doubt they do) please let me know, otherwise, I have to find someplace that'll sell me two heatsinks for 2 PII processors. Also, the HDD doesn't show up for some reason so I can't install 98 on it.

I dont think that you can buy supplementary heatsinks for those P2's. Maybe try another fan port or 2 new fans maybe.

Would I be able to buy just new heatsink fans or would they have to be case fans? I have room for like 4 case more fans.

you really need to keep airflow going over the CPU heatsink.

If you can mount a case fan RIGHT OVER the CPU heatsinks blowing right on em and up to the exhaust port on your power supply it should work with case fans.

The fan on the heatsink is a 40mm right? I'd measure, but I don't have a millimeter ruler on me at the moment.

Sorry, my clairvoyance isn't working today. I can't tell how big the fan is without seeing it.

Ahhh, right.

I just took them off to take the pic and noticed one was completely broken in half. Anyways, I need to replace these two:

You could always just take em in to your local computer store - they should be able to hook you up.

[Excuse the double post]

Fans are on the way.

But at the moment I have run into other severe problems.

Problem 1: Firefox takes at least thirty seconds to load and I often get a warning before Firefox starts up:

I have tried running memtest86 and it says everything is functioning fine. I have re-installed firefox twice. I just can't seem to find the problem.

Problem 2: My audio drivers are not functioning properly. I have to re-install them at least once a day now. I am using a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz card. And I sometimes have to use the onboard AC97 Audio

I can't seem to get on top of any of these problems, so if anyone could help the wannabe techie, that would be appreciated.

EDIT: Also, AVG (antivirus program) says there is a virus, but when I try to use the heal, delete, or move to vault options it doesn't let me. I tried going to the folder where they say the virus exists and I can't get to it to manually delete it.

You can't delete a file that's in use... You run virus scans/removal in "safe mode" so none of the crap is loaded during boot...

What's your start page in Firefox?

If it's not the start page causing it, it might be something in his profile. If that's the case, to truly deinstall Firefox, go through the normal de-installation procedure. After that, delete C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox. This will competely de-install all remnants of Firefox. After that re-install.

Yeah, your best bet for the sound card problem is to pick one and stick with it - download the latest driver from the manufacturer - reinstall the new driver.

That;s cause you need to set up an array. SCSI is NOT like EIDE. You also need to usually install 3rd party drivers at the begining of the installation for the SCSI/RAID header so Windows installation knows where to look for the drives. Good luck using 98 (it usually dosnt let you do this, you'll have to use an NT based system, nor do I think 98 supports dual CPU systems).
