So I'm wondering, would these 17670's fit inside a quark tac and a quark rgb instead of 2 CR123's end to end?

Good question. If they're slightly larger than two CR123 batteries, I'd be doubtful, given that most protected 16340s won't fit in the quarks. Then again, the issue with the protected cells (other than the AW ones, which are the right size) is the length, while the difference with the 17670 will be the width (nominally 1mm wider), rather than the length.

In other words, I dunno

So would it be possible to switch to a singular cell battery instead of running 2 cr123's?

Or am I best just getting some AW rechargeable cr's?

I actually use those exact same batteries in my Quarks.

Good fit and they seem to hold a charge for a pretty long time.

I would ask 4sevens. Since they are both their products.

For those of you playing at home got this reply from 4sevens

"Thank you for contacting us! The 17670 is too wide to fit in the bodies of these lights. We recommend you purchased two rcr123 instead."

Case closed.

I believe you can buy an 18650 body, which makes the quark not taper in the middle anymore, a bit longer, and have crazy capacity.

Are they still making those? I don't see them on the site anymore.

True, but then I would have just bought that in the first place and not gotten what the CR bodies.

I got the CR because it's a bit more compact which I like

I'm with you all the way - I find I use my 2x123 rather than the others for that very reason.

As far as I know the 18650 bodies have been discontinued and apparently so have the RGBs. I bought an RGB with an 18650 body and the body was not compatible with that light unfortunately. They took the body back but I was stuck with the light which is a bit of a bummer since I refuse to continually buy one time use batteries. Looks like the rechargeable 123s will have to do.
