So basically this shot was lit with the two tripod lights. (the headlamp was really weak and did not make a huge difference)

-one light is in the foreground and has the 35mm diffuser on it.

-the other light (with no diffuser attached) was placed down the drain and shines straight at my back.

1 sec exposure
iso 200
f/ 5.6

And when you finally disappear, We'll just say you were never here.

That dear sir is an awesome set up.

I've been wanting to get some kind of a rig going for draining for a while now but given that most of our drains are under 6 foot I dont want to be hunching over all the time AND carrying truckloads of crap.

This is a neat compromise.

Love it.

Mine arrived just now!

I ordered four of them - they seem to do the job great! This is going to be vastly better than my current approach of balancing lights on rocks found in tunnels.

Oh trust me, when the flashlights take over the world, you'll be the first one they turn on.

This is such an excellent idea! I never thought to use a tripod for lighting. I've just ordered a fake Gorillapod and clamp from Dealextreme for super cheap. If I like the setup, I'll order another set. Looks like those clamps will hold my new Quark or mini Maglite well, and miiiiiiight even barely fit my new Fenix. I have been working on upgrading my gear since I realized that what I was using before was woefully unreliable and inadequate.

Thanks for sharing!

A tripod screw is a quarter twenty bolt, if you like to diy this stuff.

I just ordered some of the $5 gorrilapods and this light below. Super compact and seems like it's good enough for ambient lighting.

Looking forward to trying it out.

OH LOOK!!! It's Orly's new draining outfit! =D =D =D

Those Lite-pods look creepy. Kinda Orwellian. I want one.

Yes. It's the lite-pods that are creepy.
