Heyo, new here from Edmonton. Thought id throw a post in to this thread since most of you guys are Edmonton, also learning to navigate this site so this may not be the place to start lol.

Seems like a lot of UE Edmonton locations gets destroyed quick, but if you guys do a meetup again in the future, id love to come join if you'd have me.

Ive done most of my previous exploring around crownest and eastern rocky mountain locations, would like to start finding some more Urban locations to explore.

Congrats on finding UER. You're on the money in terms of the short shelf life for locations in this neck of the woods. There's a few persistent people still around making the most of it. We'd all love to see pictures of where you've been previously.

The only location I know of is the plant, just wanted to know if it's still worth checking out still, considering how long its been there and how well known it is.

I don't recall if I made a post in this thread yet or not but I recently moved to Edmonton in the summertime and I am still new to this province. I have known about this site since about 2012 or 2013 and I did have an account on here a long time ago but I forgot the password and no longer have the email used. Abandoned places have always been interesting to me and recently re-discovered urban exploring.

I would love to get together with a group and go explore. I can meet up anywhere in the province. I have also been interested in roof topping and bridge climbing.

Didn't take too many photos, but most of what ive seen is just small town stuff, like abandoned gas stations and barns, a couple of bridges with walkways underneath, and a couple of houses in counties outside of edmonton.

Ive also been looking into old coal mine locations, trying to find an opening to one but i doubt ill find one lol.

i dont know how top add pictures

Also does anyone have any tips for the plant? Tips with parking, shouyld i go at night, if i should bring anything specific? Everything in small towns you can just walk to it in broad daylight and go inside and you'd be fine.

Hi everyone, I live in Edmonton, I recently joined UER. Glad to be here, I've been looking for a place to discuss urbex and learn from others more experienced than myself. Just trying to make some posts to get more comfortable with the system.

Back home again for the holidays and have been cruising around checking status of old locations and seeking new ones. Today went to check out this house in parkland county I used to explore around 10 years ago when it was in a construction limbo due to my guess financial issues and The house was around 60% done. Ironically one of Edmontons other famous "abandoned mansions" is on the same street. Last we were there construction was just beginning to resume in around 2014 ish so stopped visiting. The carpentry and wood work in the house was absolutely stunning beyond comprehension to say the least so today driving by to see only a pile of rubble and ashes left I was in shock. Found a Realtor video from a couple years ago with the house seemingly finished and staged and then a second video showing it early this year completely derelict and vandalized to the extreme being sold for much cheaper and now for sale as just land.
From what ive found it sounds like there was a death in the family and the home was never lived in, would love to find out more on the story and what happened in the end causing the fire.

The line of mansions on that riverbank have been vacant for quite some time. The one at the end became a Tik Tok hotspot during covid. Just another classic example of too much exposure.

I have lost pictures of all the mansions along the riverbank I hope I can find them.
