I have a bunch of these things lying around, and have never used them. I'm sure they're probably quite handy, and maybe I'd not have lost one or two torches if I'd had them in a holster instead of a pocket, but I just haven't brought myself to cross that line. Call me a slave to fashion.

I have 2 holsters for 18650 lights and I've used both of them. Together. At once.

There I said it.

Yeah, but have you pulled them out at the same time, quick-draw style?!

I haven't needed to. Everyone who sees them backs down before it's necessary.

I have to admit I have attached a flash pouch thing to my waist when out shooting. I presume I was wearing jeans or something, instead of cargos, and didn't have umpteen big pockets to choose from.

A belt/pocket clip is your friend for EDC. And for the Quark, get the Normal type for exploring, and just be careful with the bezel position.

When I wear cargoes I find that I have too many pockets and I'm constantly checking pocket after pocket for things. The holster (fashion faux pas that it is) at least allows me to remember where my light is.

Yeah, I love a good clip. My old Jet III Pro was great in that regard - had just enough weight to hold it firmly clipped on. I was using the clip on the Quark, but have taken to looping the lanyard around a belt loop instead.

Speaking of lanyards, who uses them? I'd never bothered until recently with the little Quark - handy to just be able to loop it over my head, or tie it to myself so I don't have to worry about dropping it when I'm climbing something. Not sure how useful I'd find it with a heavier torch, though.

I carry a mini-mag. So it came with a holster & lanyard. I use both. Find them convenient.

I'm a clip man, and I always use lanyards. The lanyards I use are the short hand loop ones though. I think it would be hard to fit a long lanyard in a jeans pocket.

I recently bought a Surefire G3 that came with a holster it holds a spare set of batteries and clips on and off of your belt with out having to remove the belt. Its also adjustable for left or right hand draw and can be set at different angles. I can't say I've been out in public with it but its been on more than a few explores and is fairly handy at work. My nerd-flashlight mastery is almost complete................

Yeah, I do have to stuff the lanyard into my pocket when I'm using it like that.

How you like it? I saw one cheap at LLBean the other night and almost bought it. Cost of batteries seems like a problem though..

As far as holster, I just keep something in my pocket. They're deep enough and I don't have to worry about it being clunky by my side.

The thing is awesome one of my better investments for sure. I bought the LED version which will put out for about 9.5 hrs on a set of batteries over 5.5 of that is tactical level light.

I swapped that LED into my surefire G2 and picked up a P60 Cree R2 drop-in rated at 225 lumen from battery junction. It runs for at least 3-4 hours in the G3 and the brightness and beam pattern is great.

As far batteries there are cheaper options than the surefire brand. Battery junction has CR123A's that are shrink wrapped in 2's and 3's so they drop right in a G2 or G3 and I can't tell much difference in the performance. The surefire brand is $1.75/each from their website and even more in retail stores usually
$2+/each around here. The battery junction versions are a $1/each and you can get discounts for ordering in bulk.

Though, usually, I wear my keys in my pocket, not clipped to my belt loops.

The bulge in my pocket is NOT because I'm happy to see you, it's just my Über-fat-duc(k)taped wallet:

What I'm wearing looks quite ok, but I'm not such a fan of the "clip everything to belt"-people. I have a PALM protection case which came with a belt clip - tossed it on first sight.

I've once seen a guy in the train who had a fanny pack and I think like 7 or 8 little things clipped to his belt. I could make out at least phone, little pouch for tobacco and a leatherman. Don't know what the others held.

Batarang, shark spray, and night-vision goggles. I've been guilty of this. Multitool, a flashlight or two or three (clipped or holstered), phone, and camera case.
