If I could say it in words, I wouldn't need to photograph.

Ha! I have a shot of that same document... it's funny that we both found that in the pile of papers there! Dude, I had a really good time with you and your friends yesterday. Really enjoyed the trip, we'll definitely do something again soon!

Here's a bit of what I came away with (got many more, but saving them for the official DB entry).

Here's a bit of what I came away with (got many more, but saving them for the official DB entry).

---------------

I had a bit of an accident as for the first time ever, I actually fell entirely through a floor that collapsed under my feet. Scared the shît out of me, but I came away with just some scrapes, bruised and cuts. (rule #1: never trust the flooring in these types of places!)

Anyways, the history of this small town is pretty sparse..

The town struggled to achieve more than 100 residents after World War I. Today, there are less than 20 people living in the area and the town itself is nothing but decayed remnants of it's former self. From records we found in the school, it appears to have been shuttered in 1972 or 1973.

Today, it sits as you see it below.

not to be rude but....is this already a thread? cuz i love the pics and such but it takes up alot on the photo a day thread lol

and damn your night shots....

No, you're right... I probably should put that into a separate thread. Only thing is, this was insulinguy's spot - he invited me to tagalong this weekend to shoot it. He's not a full member and can't add the spot to the DB. He's posted shots from the same location in here, so I figured I'd add the shots to his.

I've removed most of the images and left a couple of teasers.

ive applied for a full membership so that i could enter this school in the DB - i think all texan explorers/photographers need to experience this place and i wanted to share it. i also want to add the other two schools i found and the church - i am awaiting the decisions from the mods. if i cant be the one who enters it - then so be it. SCARECROW was there with me and two others who had never heard of uer and we all had a wonderful day stepping back in time. if nothing else ill add a gallery to the DB entry if you make it SCARECROW and i ever get a full membership! thanks for the credit there SCARECROW! thanks for coming out man! really was an epic day. im assuming you can go again this month - right? the other two are in as well! sorry i couldnt make it out with you today captain slow! i was beat senseless after this trip! sorry to flood the photo a day with more than one photo but hell - this school is all i can think about!!

i had about 10 good pics and some history and hazards and all that standard stuff and u still needed a FM to add it and youre positive it should be seen by all

though if its in good shape i would restrict it to FM members only so to keep it clean

but yeah =]

thats what we were hoping it would be - restricted to FMs only - this place is special and really - its like stepping back in time. the old books left behind - the documents - its just....gold. pure gold. and i couldnt believe it when i walked in the first time. it was just as exciting to see the grin on the others faces. and by grins i mean slobber! each of us got more than a few money shots!
