I am a filmmaker and PhD student in London looking for urban explorers, adventurers and infiltrators to go for some crawls through derelict spots in London.
I have a spot we can explore, but I will come to you anywhere the tube goes. I would prefer groups of two or more going out before Dec. 8th. I will be back again Jan 1st if that does not work.
Basically I want to get footage of exploration and do some 'in the field' ethnographic interviews about the motivation to explore in the city.
Participation will get you:
1. On TV where 10 million viewers will learn about what you do
2. In an article for the journal Geography Compass
3. Talked about at conferences all over the world
4. In my Ph.D. dissertation with some props for being cool enough to invite a noob
5. An insiders look at my favorite location in Wandsworth (pictured)
5. To help me advance my career and inflate my ego

We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit. |

I am not going to portray urbex in a negative light, I chose this as my research because I respect it. I am a geographer and am interested in more theoretical questions of mapping space and place and in how we define identity through tangible and intangible heritage in the city.

The important part is that I will respect your privacy. I will not reveal locations. You can use an alias. If you want to wear a mask, go for it. If you want to wear the nipple clamps, that would be good too. I can block out your face. OR I can not even film you, just go for an explore and an off camera interview about motivations.
But most importantly - I just want to go explore my new city. Happy to leave the camera at home...
The ”moment” is mainly temporal, forming part of a zone of temporality, not pure but dominant. Well, UER is an international forum (that includes our shitty little island) which predates most if not all of the 'UK FORUMS' of which you speak.
However goblinmerchant, Alias is certainly right in that you might find a forum like 28 Days (which has its own dedicated 'yippee we are famous again' press / newspaper / media / ego section) more helpful than here.

PS: For safety, you should always wear nipple tassels when exploring. It's just common sense!

Thanks for that - I will lurk around 28 Days a bit more.
On the other note, I always explore with 10 Gauge nipple rings which are a one up from tassles since I actually speared myself with them.
