It would more likely than not have some sort of encryption on it, or be digitally signed. It probably wouldnt be as simple as copy and paste.

I looked into this because I just got a handheld Mio and they use the same technology (iGO) as TomTom. With any more advanced knowledge of the Windows environment you can use counterfeited GPS cards. The iGo GPS systems are based off Windows CE and can be "unlocked" giving you access to load other Windows CE based programs. Doing a few registry edits to point the app in the right direction to find the maps turned out to be fairly simple.

The ones for Garmin are DRM'd to shit and you can't even access the contents on a computer.
