OK, The New Star System works better because basically, people are rewarded for doing good stuff. These are the stars you'll see:

1 Month Star - Appears when a user has been a member for 1 month.

3 Month Star - Appears when a user has been a member for 3 months.

6 Month Star - Appears when a user has been a member for 6 months.

1 Year Star - Appears when a user has been a member for 1 year.

2 Year Star - Appears when a user has been a member for 2 years.

3 Year Star - Appears when a user has been a member for 3 years.

Administrator Star - Appears if this user is an administrator.

Moderator Star - Appears if this user is a moderator in the current forum.

LocationDB Star - Appears if this user has contributed at least 5 locations to the Location Database, and these locations are publically available and have a real picture. Each of the 5 locations must have a rating of 7 or higher, by at least 5 different people.

Infilration Star - Appears if this user has started their own zine, named it Infiltration, and inspired thousands of people.

Donor Star - Appears if this user has generously donated to keep this board up.

Annoying Star - Appears if this user has been branded as a nuisance.

Donated Time Star - Appears if this user has helped out UER.CA in some way.

Trusted Star - Appears if at least one of the forum moderators can vouch for this person. This person can be trusted.

Encyclopedia Star - Appears if this user has contributed at least 5 entries to the UE Encyclopedia.

Pride Star - Appears either if this user is proud to have gay&lesbian friends, or is proud to be gay/lesbian. You can enable this star in your profile.

Location DB Rater Star - Appears if this user has rated at least 50 locations in the Location DB. In order to rate a location, the user must view at LEAST half of the photos in the location.

OPEX Star - Appears if this user attended the Office Products Expo '94, held in Toronto, June 3-6.

--

More stars may appear in the future!

Good work Av.

I like this new system. Now that there are so many of us on the forum, which makes it harder to keep track of who's who, these more descriptive stars can give you a better idea of a poster's credibility. When someone without even a 1-month star tells you they've infiltrated the Pentagon in their NBC suit while evading guard dogs, you have reasons for doubting him/her.

Well, time on the forum isn't necessarily a good indicator of UE skill level.

I dunno... we'll have to see how well it works.

Actually the only thing that this or any other star system tells about anybody, is that how much they have wasted from their lives on this forum

I really never look on any forum, that how much the person have stars etc. It doesn't add in my mind any credibility to the things that the person is saying.
You can have hundred stars, one or none, every person in my mind starts from the same line, until they open their mouth.

The trust and credibility develops in time...with or without stars.
