They have a reputation for behaving like police officers, and usually getting away with it. If you run into these people while on their property, they do have the power to arrest you. However, if you ask them for their Ontario Security Guard License, they MUST show it to you. Note, by "show it to you", that doesn't mean they have to let you physically handle it, nor does it mean you have to let them see your name. You just have to show them that you are in posession of a license.
