After many grueling hours of work, I got it to function properly


UER's new server Akiak showing off the UER website.

An update:

I'm trying to source a good place for two 1GB sticks of DDR2-667 (PC5200) ECC Registered ram.

Anyone have any ideas? Post in the other thread if you find a good price. Right now, the cheapest I can find is $150 CDN.

Please note: ECC Registered is a must!

A quick update:

Surprisingly the server works fine with 2gb of RAM on one processor, and no ram on the other one. I'm probably going to upgrade it, but at least I don't have to do it right now.

I'm planning to install the machine into the datacenter this friday.

The UER site should be live on it over the weekend, hopefully... depending on when I have time to work on it.

Because I'm upgrading to 64-bit Windows, 64-bit MySQL 5.0, and MyODBC 3.5 (from 2.5), there's a lot of strange bugs and kinks to work out. Please bear with me as I fix the bugs as fast as I can, when the time comes. I'll try to make the transition as smooth as possible.

That's our baby right at the top. My friend and I looked around the other racks -- ours is the only SUN server that we could see. That's hot sweetness.

Alright, the move will probably begin Monday, 19th of March at like 5 or 6PM EDT.

The site will be offline for a few hours while I move databases and re-assign IPs.

After that, it may take between 1-24 hours for your ISP to pass along the IP change to you -- temporary URLs will be available in the meantime.

Looking forward to a new server!
