OS Install trouble < on 12/12/2005 10:43 PM > | Reply with Quote
Ok I was installing os/2 warp on my pc, and I made a mistake of not formatting one of the floppys so I wrote a image over another on floppy 3 (It had #2 on it and I wrote #3 on it without clearing/formatting). So the setup went to hell. Do I have to reclear my HDD? Also how many disks are required for os/2 4, I dont have to many floppys lying around, and my floppy drive only wants to read imation floppys, I only have like 4.

1) Hunh Formatting? Four disks? I told you earlier you only need two and that neither need to be formatted. 2) Get RAWWRITE if you don't have an image utility already 3) write \DISKIMGS\OS2\35\DISK0.DSK to a disk. Label it "Boot". 4) Write \DISKIMGS\OS2\35\DISK1_CD.DSK to a disk. Label it "Install". 5) Stick the Boot disk in and boot from it with the CD in. 6) When it asks, stick in the Install CD. 7) Install will continue from CD. Have it use the existing partitions (reformat them if you can) and just write over them.
