 | "UNB's 50 Year Expansion Project"

| Campus has been undergoing a lot of construction lately. It's all a part of what is known as "UNB's 50 Year Expansion Project". The first part of this expansion, is to improve upon all the existing infrastructure on or around campus. This includes, putting in walls along the hills around campus to keep back the eroding hill. It also includes the removal of Baily Drive, and Dineen Dr, to be replaced with a walking trail. It also includes improving the condition of the tunnel system.
We have already seen the work being done in the tunnel system lately. First, there is the re-construction that has been taking place on Pacey Drive. This project involved upgrading the pipes in this region which were damaged by weathering due to the weaknesses in the wall in this area. We also have seen the work being done in the Memorial Hall region of the the tunnels. New Insulation was put on these pipes.
Im making a prediction that all the pipes will receive new insulation.
That there will be a new Tunnel made from the 'SUB Tunnels' to the new UNB residence.
That there will be a new tunnel made off of "Section 4" aka the 'Noisey Tunnels'
to McCain Hall; the new STU Academic Building.
Also
Construction has began between McConnel, and the Alumni Building, to put in a baring wall, that would secure the hill from further erosion. Last year, erosion nearly took out a whole section of Mackay Dr. No wonder they are working in this area.
After seeing this area excavated i can conclude that the tunnels do not go directly to Mc Connel via the Alumni building, and infact they must go via another route that is yet to be discovered...more scouting is needed, and analysis of this area of campus.
