Wednesday Adventure
entry by Jennibel

After working 12-hr shift at my job, I was finally able to leave...but my destination wasn't home. It was a drive up to northern washington to retrieve my wallet/drivers license/debit & credit cards/$$ that I had left at my moms. Ok, I have left home without my purse before but it has only been about a 10 minute drive to work & then another 15 min back home. Never had I had to drive an hour & a half without any ID. I was already paranoid about being pulled over by the police but my friends didnt make it any better by saying that the cops were patrolling Highway 2 heavily & asking what I would say if I was pulled over. Plus having a red sports car, they said I was definitely a 'ticket magnet'.

All was going good, I was extra careful of my speed/driving habits while driving thru town until I got out onto Hwy 2. At one place, there was a cop car waiting to enter traffic heading north. Of course no one was willing to let him out in traffic... So, as luck would have it, right after I passed him (me being in the inside lane) he turned on his lights, pulled thru the outside lane into the inside lane right behind me. 'Oh, crap!" I said as my heart started beating quicker & my mind raced with what I would say to the cop. Looking out my rear-view mirror, I then noticed the lights go off. At that point, I thanked whomever was watching out for me on that day. My almost coronary arrest stopped & I continued on my way--with cruise control set exactly at the speed limit & staying in the right hand lane.

So, I finally get up to my moms house & figure that since I'm here I might as well take my Seadoo out for a while since it was 93 out. After I burned thru a tank (15 gallons) of gas & decided I should head back home. Plus it was around 7:30.

Heading back home again (with my wallet this time) I was followed all the way from Newport to the spokane-city limits. Since I was actually going the speed limit it took 2 hours to get home. Enough was enough--at this point all I wanted to do was get home without a police escort.
