My buddy's server is:

P4 2.2Gz
256 RAM
40 G HD
We use it to host online games and some WWW / FTP stuff.

What programs does everyone use to serve? We use Serv-U FTP and we have a no-ip.com deal. I dont remember the hosting software we have.

I've got a rack-mounted proliant with 4x 450 Xenon processors, 768 ram and 6x 4.3 10,000 RPM drives. Right now is running Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP1 with no problems.

My project box right now is a Proliant 1600 PIII machine that I have to track down some RAM for - two 9.1 gb 10,000 "new style" drives and dual-NICs. I'm also running an "evaluation" copy of Server 2K3 on a Thinkpad A22P laptop that has a 900mhz PIII and 128 ram. Just playing around with that one. I may turn it into an RRAS server for my dorm room. ~Grit.

Servers:

Fileserver
1GB DDR266 RAM
INTEL PENTIUM 4 2.8GHZ PROCESSOR
1 X 40GB HARD DRIVE (OS)
4 X 250GB HARD DRIVE
1 X 500GB HARD DRIVE
1 X GIGABIT ETHERNET
Runs Win Server 2k3 (with most of the services shut off)

This machine is used as a file/ftp server.

VidServer
Dell PowerEdge 1750
2GB FBDIMMS (Not sure of the speed)
2 x Intel Xeon Processor 2.66ghz
3 x 75gb scsi360 (i think) hard drives in raid 0
2 x gigabit ethernet
runs win server 2k3
also FREAKIN LOUD as it is a 2u rack mount model

I do quite a bit of video encoding, and this beast is what i do it on. I know it's not exactly what this machine was made to do , but it works great in this respect. I can encode video in less than 1/2 the time it takes on my main computer (which isn't exactly a pansy).
