This hulking abandoned factory in America’s Rustbelt is an industrial relic abandoned for over 30 years.

For over 80 years, this factory served the manufacturing industry through the production of turret lathes and the mass production of parts.

The factory fed the nation's war efforts as the lathes made here would be used to machine components for American tanks, warships, guns and airplanes. The company that operated out of this building produced for the military long before World War 2, dating back to the 1800s, they produced binoculars, gin-sight telescopes and range finders, back when high-precision instruments were in their infancy.

At its peak, this company employed more than 7,000 people.

The plant was forced to close following industry consolidation and mass layoffs following severe financial hardships.

In the early 1990s, the city purchased the land in a plan to redevelop it for a municipal service center, a plan that would never be executed.

It has been considered over the years for a revival into apartments or office space.

Every wall on every floor is covered with years upon years of graffiti, from the simplest words to the most elaborate pieces and everything in between.

Urban explorers are drawn to the decay, the light, shadows, exposed brick and industrial settings.

Until a buyer comes forward with a suitable plan and funding for the site, it will continue to be a destination for Urban Explorers, a canvas for graffiti writers and street artists, and a temporary home for the homeless.

Thank you, I really should maybe bring my pic size down a bit - this is the only place that they show so huge. they are serving from my website and they aren't even this big on there!!!
