| | | It seems like you dudes pop up every month or so and then disappear just as quickly.
How do we find bando spots on our own? I've done hours and hours of research online and I can only find demolished or ultra popular spots. We're mainly interested in malls and hospitals. Everyone asks this and it is not answered for many reasons. You'll figure it out, I believe in you. How do we deal with security workers or private property owners? Should we run? Do I tell them we're just exploring and doing photography? What happens if the cops do show up? The axiom is: run from security, don't run from the cops. Your mileage may vary. Certainly I know tons of guys who run from cops. I'm a woman, I get a lot of mileage out of pretending I followed a stray cat into a building and playing dumb. What tools should I bring? Is it worth bringing screwdrivers, wire cutters, to open hard to get in places? (We already bring masks, gloves, and flashlights). If you are caught trespassing, you might catch a misdemeanor. I haven't, but it's not impossible. If cops find these tools on you or in your car, congratulations on your shiny new charge for breaking and entering (which, in Florida, is actually just burglary, and a felony). I know lots of people who open spots for others, but I'm not one of them. The consequence is not worth it for me. Again, your mileage may vary. So any overall good advice from experienced urbex's would be really appreciated. I love this hobby and want to become more knowledgeable, let me know if there is anything else I should expect or need to know, or if you just have any tips. Bring tick spray. Good luck, neighbor.
