I found this small one room church in rural Wisconsin about six months ago. I'd seen pictures online and had become fascinated with the gothic architecture and the way the brickwork had collapsed on half the building and left a dividing line right down the middle with it. After a couple of hours of searching I finally narrowed down a likely pin, drove out to investigate, and sure enough found the church right where I suspected it would be . There's no grand history here, but the way the decay has taken its toll was unique enough for me.

The copper churchbell still remained in the steeple. I suspect the only reason it wasn't stolen years ago was because the steeple was so close to collapsing that it was impossible to climb up to the bell without bringing the entire church down on top of yourself.

"Sorry, I didn't know I'm not supposed to be here," he said, knowing full well he wasn't supposed to be there.
