Two Jewels Left Behind in a Repair Garage Abandoned in 1981 < on 7/12/2023 1:52 PM > | Reply with Quote
Above is the beauty that finally got me out here. For the past 10 years, there have been a pair of snowy owls that have over-wintered in a field in St. Catharines, drawing quite a crowd of bird-watchers and curiosity seekers. I return every season to try for new photos (still haven't been able to top the one above though, from 2016), and every year I have also looked across the field at a crumbling garage ruin nearby. At the back of an occupied property, requiring a very long hike to access from behind, and not looking "good" enough to invest the effort, it has taken me a decade to finally muster up the dedication to hike out to it. It took crossing a security-fenced CN rail line (which I found unusual) and meandering through swampland for 45 minutes. Making it all worthwhile though, the reward was discovering that it wasn't empty.

I love that vintage of Ranger (83 to 88). The first gen s10's and Dakota's were just as cool. The 90's styling really killed my love for all 3 baby trucks though.
