Has anyone been out to the Atlas F missile fields around Roswell? I checked out two sites last winter. One (maybe Site 12?) was accessible only down the stairway to the sealed blast door but at the 2nd (Site #5) the command module roof hatch was open and there was a ladder down to the top floor via a crazily-stacked pile of furniture. The silo had been pretty well stripped and trashed but still pretty cool to check out. I think the missile may have exploded in the tube because the silo itself was blackened and missing pieces of concrete.
